September Meeting and Social

Our September 7th meeting will be at Don and Carol Hegeman's house (52 Bashford Rd., Valatie, NY 12184). Update on this meeting: Don and Carol would like to make some safety changes because of the increased risk of the Delta variant. They are requesting that only members who have received the vaccine attend this meeting. Since their house is not big enough to allow social distancing, the meeting will be held outside (please bring a chair!) and people will need to wear a mask when in the house. Unfortunately, if there is bad weather, the meeting will be canceled. 

Their house is about 35 minutes south of downtown Albany. If anyone has problems finding the house, the land line is 518 392 9704 and cellphone is 518 260 8059. Remember, Valatie is the legal address but the nearest hamlet is Chatham Center.

Potluck dinner starts at 6pm followed by a meeting and a presentation by Dan Welch. He is the founder and the owner of The Sweater Venture, a local fair trade artisan store that promotes global engagement through local commerce (https://www.sweaterventure.com/). Also, he was the senior country officer in Costa Rica.

Please bring a dish or beverage to share. Also, please bring a chair.

Carol shared that you can all feel free to come 1/2 hour early if weather is nice so you can take an easy hike up their hill and check out their garden. Bring bug spray as ticks are possible.
